How the garden grows

With the rain we have had, our garden and bushes have perked up. The summer heat really impacts the garden - even with our constant watering and nurturing.

One little area behind the gazebo has statue reflecting the quiet of the garden. It is my favorite view.

We notice that the dogs are busy digging holes to crawl into and rest. I wonder: are the dogs predicting a cold winter? Are they seeking escape from the heat more than even last week? Or is it just that the moist ground is so much easier to dig now? They find places behind the plants to carve out and disappear into. These would all go unnoticed by us EXCEPT for the mound of displaced dirt their digs create.

And sometimes the expressions on their faces just give them away!
