This is nothing more or less than an attempt to sway a high school chum to visit. And to ride his bike on these trails.
These trails ARE all hiking/biking/horse riding friendly.
And my chum loves to ride his bike...
I admit this is pure propaganda!
This is Shado is waiting for me while I take another photo.
Oh, come on!
Let's get on with hiking!
Beware, some parts are crowded with chollas.
They will stick to you and HURT!
Sometimes there are road hazards -
not just for hikers and their dogs.
This guy would stop a horse or a bikin' buddy.
I hope a few of these photos sway Greg. Anyone else interested in joining me in a bike ride?

You actually run across desert turtles? Guess Shado has some good desert manners -- can't imagine what my dogs would do.
(Your propaganda worked on me.)
These are tempting. Mr turtle looks like he's having a good time.
YES. we didn't go to high school together, but you are tempting me nonetheless.
we have gigantic turtles here, too. they live in the lake by my house and come out in the spring to lay their eggs.
I do not think they would know what to do with all that sand.
I'd like to join you on a horse ride - I did some riding in the dessert on vacation, and it was really fun!
Yes, Shado has good manners! As we walked by Mr. Turtle, Shado was curious but not too much so. Mr. Turtle pulled into his shell and waited... and then pulled back out and strutted on his merry way. Do turtles strut? I don't know...
Karin, Laurie, I'd love to have company! Kate, the horse staging area is right at this trail head. On weekends, lots of horses on some of the trails, esp. the perimeter trails. Let's go!
Is it just my laziness speaking, or would that make for difficult biking?
