Rain in my head

I noticed last night that the grape vines are starting to green up. Whew. I was afraid that this year I butchered them to their death.
Not only do grapes grow well in Arizona, they thrive in Minnesota, too!

This morning started with garden work, but then the rains came.

Rain
- by Shel Silverstein  (found here)

  I opened my eyes
And looked up at the rain,
And it dripped in my head
And flowed into my brain,
And all that I hear as I lie in my bed
Is the slishity-slosh of the rain in my head.

I step very softly,
I walk very slow,
I can't do a handstand--
I might overflow,
So pardon the wild crazy thing I just said--
I'm just not the same since there's rain in my head.

Yay! A sign of life! I'm sure that is a relief. It is kind of scary pruning them, isn't it? How old are your vines? Ours are still a few months away from any budbreak, but I am looking forward to it. Thanks for the link up. :)

Hi Two-Fingers,
Went out to check mine; nothing yet. In Napa they prune them down to the gnarly nub, so I'm sure yours are ok.

We totally get the rain thing. Oregon rains a LOT :)

Don't they sell wine and grape jelly in the stores out there?

Green is always nice.
Good luck with your grapes, I like the picture very much.
We have never been lucky with grapes over here, probably the wrong spot and too much heat.

Banjo is just jealous.

Therese, I had great luck with my grapes when I lived on the west side of the valley - there are lots of vineyards out near Luke Air Force Base. So now on the east side, I am anxious to try it again.

Yea, Banjo (B52) is truly jealous. Nothing beats homemade preserves! And the wine?? Well, I'm leacing that up to Ashley and her gentleman farmer!

Dang, it is not my 2 finger typing, it is my non-proofing skills! I meant LEAVING it up to Ashley! Besides, she is the educated vine master here!
