Walkin' with Sophie

Entrance to the Gilbert Riparian Park.
Sophie and I usually enter from one of the pond sides,
so we always missed this beautiful
fallin' water entrance.

A crowd of professional photographers were hidden in the bushes,
side by side,
taking photos of this egret.
I called her 'Bella Donna' - she reminded me of Stevie Nicks dancing.

And no one paid attention to this stilt bird-
an American Avocet.
His only company was his reflection.

A parade of Canadian geese on their morning walk.

beautiful photos, but I especially love the 1st one! WoW! Love the perspective, right down in the middle of the stream
I see what you mean about the one reminding you of Stevie Nicks - Bella Donna is the perfect name for that one!

I can't believe you have all that water, wildlife and a lawn, too! I'm definitely living at the wrong end of the desert!

great photos!

Thanks for the info on your camera, I'm keeping it for the day I can afford a new one.

I might have heard of an Avocet, but I sure had no mental picture of one. Interesting, cool-looking bird! Thanks.

That park looks great. Our tax dollars at work, I assume. I wonder how the "I-hate-any-tax" fanatics would spend that money if it were returned to their pockets.

A suburb near me is about to lose its 10-acre nature center, its library, and nice, nice community center because the citizens voted down a millage. And that's a normally enlightened town. Hope they enjoy their extra carton of 7-Up. And maybe a hot dog.

Sorry to be political, but there's so much I just don't understand . . .

Hey Brenda,
Stumpy's kennel door is 13x16. The berner manages that quite easily. What are you saying?
