He wa'n't no common dog, he wa'n't no mongrel;
he was a composite.
A composite dog is a dog that is made up
of all the valuable qualities that's in the dog breed
— kind of a syndicate;
and a mongrel is made up of all riffraff that's left over.

Call her anythng you want, Sophie is gorgeous!
Sophie is one of my favorite kind of dogs. She is ultra beautiful.
The Beautiful Trixie of Dennis's Diary of Destruction is another sample of this same kind of beauty.
The Next Dog I get is gonna be one just like these two!
Cheers and Hugs,
Jo and Stella
We agree with Stella - she is beautiful!
Sam
What very sweet pictures! And I love her cute, expressive eyebrows.
What a CUTIE!
She seems to have a great disposition...
She's a charmer, all right.
sophie has a wonderful smile. she really does. she is a beautiful dog. i have never had anything but a composite and also a few mongrels. i love mixed breeds
She is beautiful! Looks like the perfect "mix".
Oh, I do love that quote. And the pictures. I had to look this up -- it's from PL Travers, Mary Poppins, and reminds me of a dog I once had:
Andrew's most special friend was more than common, he was a Byword. He was half an Airedale and half a Retriever and the worst half of both...He'd wink at Andrew and wander off, waving his hindquarters just to show that he didn't care."
Thanks, all! Most of the time, Sophie is 'the perfect mix'. Most of the time...
AH, I love your "byword' quote! This is a keeper!
And Stella, I am off to read of the Beautiful Trixie. Who knows, she and Sophie may be twin sisters of different mothers (thanks, Dan Fogelberg and Tim Weisberg!).
Sophie is beautiful and the photos just lovely!
So whats in the composite parts making up the whole? I read somewhere that they can do DNA testing to figure it out. What would Twain say to that?
btw: I love seeing your commentors with all their doggy avitars.
Sophie looks delightful, a true friend.
Sophie is obviously one of a kind!
