Long ribbon of road (er, water) Part 4

The view today was of a ribbon of water, not a long road.

The day struggled between low clouds and drizzle
until the sun finally came out.

Old Faithful Inn and the eruption
(the building doesn't erupt - the geyser does).

Waterfalls are everywhere in Yellowstone -
each one unique, all beautiful.

Elk are bountiful, too.

Tomorrow the beauty continues...

In an earlier post, Banjo 52 mentioned he'd like to hear the 'conversation' of this trip's inception. Here it is: Elsa has moaned that her 'bucket list' was getting longer, not shorter. (Thanks, Iilya for lending her the movie "The Bucket List"). So, in self defense, I asked to see the 'bucket list' and figure out how many items I could help cross off of it. A trip to Yellowstone and the Tetons was near the top of her list. And that is how we ended up here... on a long ribbon of road. Banjo, this is the short version. Want more?

You are creating some wonderful memories with your mom while helping her with her bucket list. I'm glad you finally got sunshine at Yellowstone.

I've just discovered your blog and signed on as a follower - love your photos. As a Canadian snowbird with a home in Surprize, AZ, I'm interested in everything Arizona. We've just comcpleted a road trip from Surprise to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada through Idaho, Utah, Oregon and Washington, and BC. Beautiful, beautiful country.

Thanks for the plug, but your story is full of good feeling and plenty interesting without a banjo factor. I'm glad I asked. And if there's more, you bet I'll read it. And I'll pile on to say nice photos. You've actually got me interested. I've heard good things about that lodge and/or other lodges within the park, if they exist. You're happy with it?

I love all the pictures and am familiar with a lot of these places.
My family and I have gone to Yellowstone every year now for the past 4 years. Last labor Day we went to Flaming Gorge and floated the Green river. It was so beautiful.
