I agree and there are a lot of older cars around these days showing off just giving me ideas I can't afford :-)

I love the vintage cars seen in Arizona. Back east you'd only see them in the summer because of salt and rust damage, here it's a year round feast! Is that E's gorgeous Impala?

When I was in high school I dated a guy who had one of these red Impalas ~ and his was a convertible! His name was Rocky. When else could you find a kid named Rocky who was cool except in the early 1960s!

Rocky?? Kathy!!

Had a '72 IMpala than was 20 years old when I bought it for $200. I guess it was the proverbial cream puff. LOVED it. Called it Big Green (pale, UGLY, big green). My son learned to drive on it and wrote a rap about it. But it needed constant repair, and I a long way from handy. Sold it for $900 in mid-90s to a couple in which the wife was the mechanic, got down on the ground to inspect it for what seemed like hours, test drove it for 5 minutes and said she'd take it. I'm still congratulating myself. Three years of joy at $700 profit, with a clean conscience!

Why can't Detroit build a '40 Ford or '57 Chevy (for example) with all the modern conveniences and "greenness"? How could it NOT sell? But I guess Chrysler is pulling the PT Cruiser, which I've heard is a reliable car . . .
