The desert in springtime - I'm smiling at all your photos as snow falls here in Breckenridge. The rattlesnake seems to be moving out of your way. (Thankfully)
Boy, you really make the desert look appealing. Do you miss eastern foliage at all?
Do the famous "they" say about rattlers, as they do about alligators, bears and so many dangerous animals, that they're more afraid of us than we are of them? If so, do you trust that?
Thank you all for your comments! Jo, Shado is loyal to a fault. He would never stop... If I ever hike the Pacific Crest Trail, he will be by my side each step.
Banjo, I miss what I imagine eastern foliage to look like. But I guess I won't know until/unless I live in it. I imagine the humidity would be the most difficult to adjust to. But I'd love the adventure!
The path through the cholla forest looks enchanting with the blooming creosote. I haven't seen any rattlesnakes in my area yet this year, but I'm on the lookout for them!

Wow, that rattler is up close and personal.
Shado is looking very handsome, how long will he hike with you?
Everything is looking nice and springy. The ice dams on our roof fell sometime today always making me happy none of us were on the porch!
Cheers and hugs,
Jo, Stella and Zkhat
You make Az look so pretty. I'm not missing it a bit, though!
I've never been anyplace with huge cacti like those. Wow!!!!!
Shado is looking very happy to be on the trail with you!
I must admit I am longing for such spring mornings...
Shado and the rattlesnake are certainly not friends...

We've hiked there! ...and we always see a snake there. It is probably the same one! LOL!

Great place for a spring hike! Looks like the rattler was trying to get away.
