Summer Camp

Holly
Schools start here next week. Summer Camp is over.
We hosted a few weeks of Summer Camp.
Think Doggy Camp.
Ondine
 We offered swimming.
 And outfield practice.

Whoops.

Vinnie
We perfected hours of quiet meditation.
And took lessons in camera posing.
VERY DRAMATIC POSE, no?
And every evening we watch PASS TIME to improve our math skills and reasoning abilities.
Vinnie needs to discuss the last run.
And at the end of every day, we'd collapse and drift off.
Camp is fun. I pout when it ends...
Toby, pouting.
Shado, pouting too.
Camp is over for the summer... the campers have gone home and left us in the deafening silence and complete boredom.
Time for the housekeeper to get to work!

A photo essay on hot dogs

On any hot day, our dogs offer a fashion show.
The theme is the newest accessory in dog fashion...
"How to hang your tongue".

Even our cousin Vinnie gets in on the show.
Vinnie offers a cooling solution. Sit in the doggy pool and give your tongue a rest!
And Gus?  As the elder statesman of the clan, he has the final word.
"Stay inside, rest, read, and look refined."

Of course, there is always one clown in the group. No matter how hard one tries to pose the clan,  there is ONE guy you just can't trust with his pose...

Concentration

This is what pure concentration looks like.
Can you concentrate like this?

And this is the look of happiness.
Can you be this happy?

Agility

Sunday found us at the Good Dog Agility Trials. Our friend Christine and her wonder dog Sam were participating.
All these dogs are awesome, each so involved in their task and in watching their owner.

Enjoy more photos and Sam's story
Sam blogs about his first agility trial and the ribbons he won!

We are hooked on agility now - the grace, the excitement, the silliness and the love these dogs express.
Way to go, SAM and Christine!!
And thanks for sharing your weekend with us.

A Girl Threw a Ball...

I threw a ball into the air.
It landed, but I know not where.
(Toby has a better idea than I do...)
WHOOPS!
"The wind came up and blew around,
Would it please blew our tennis ball down?"
(waiting... waiting... waiting...)
"We heard a roll, a tremble of the roof,
He posed to jump, his paws aloof.
"He reached up skyward with strength and might
He'd claim this ball with brawn and fight!"
"He leaped, he leaped, he leaped very high!
And the ball rolled down, as if dropping from the sky".
CAUGHT!

"The wait was over, the ball returned to his glove,
The victory lap began, his eyes brimming with love."
And all is good once again.
