SOPHIE
Our dog from Hell.
Or someplace nearby there.
She will steal/chew/eat anything she can find.
And she finds a way to FIND everything!
Here is a song my husband wrote for her.
The words are his, the tune is borrowed.
Sophie’s Song
(to the tune of “My Favorite Things”)
Brownies on counters and bread loaves (with butter)
Boxes and papers and various clutter
Chair arms and sofas right down to the springs
These are a few of my favorite things!
Cushions on couches and hand-knitted slippers
Sweat shirts and dog beds - but don’t eat the zippers!
Troll dolls with green hair in turbans like Kings
These are a few of my favorite things!
Light bulbs so crunchy and low voltage cables
Dish rags and cell phones and things found on tables
Barking like crazy when front door bell rings
These are a few of my favorite things!
Green plants in clay pots like lambs to the slaughter
Kid pool no longer can hold any water
Finding fresh dog poop will just make me sing
Eating them all is my favorite thing!
Small tools on book shelves and things I’ve forgotten
Throw rugs and stockings and things made of cotton
Pulling bed blankets out into the yard
Without all of these things life would sure be hard!
Boot toes and shoe backs and once a nice sweater
Glasses and pencils and pens all the better!
Make sure you don’t leave out watches or rings
For those are all some of my favorite things!
When the door slams
When we’re all bored
When I’m feeling bad
I simply eat one of my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so sad!
A box of Kleenex... destroyed in seconds!

Oh my gosh, that's HILARIOUS! I'm sorry you're having so much trouble w/ her, but the song is soooo funny!
Thanks for commenting at place!
Wow - that's some song! Love the final picture with shredded Kleenex!
Oh, this girl gets a lot of love. Albert has asked to be adopted.
Karin, Albert is welcome, but our house is a shell of its former self. Well, the house is structurally the same, but the occupants and belongs aren't... I have heard of dogs eating drywall, etc. WHEW, not ours!
More 'destroyed in seconds' photos to follow! Thank you all!
Great song. That's a creative husband you have there. Too bad the dog is so destructive, but sometimes it's just hard to be mad at them! We love them anyway.
Thanks for the nice comment about Advent On MDP. It's nice to hear a little of your background and I'm glad that I could remind you.
