This is the merriest Christmas of ever for Gus.
Last year, Christmas Eve day of 2008, his 'family' took him to the county dog pound and dumped him.
They wanted a new puppy for Christmas.
They didn't want him any more.
A big old dog dumped at the county pound.
He doesn't stand a chance.
Funny how things work out. He, Mr. Gussie, has given us a new chance at laughing and hugging a big furball. So today is the merriest Christmas ever for Gus.
He is alive, he is hugged, he is special.
He is OURS.
And in a bit he's going to the dog park to run and play ball!
Merry Day to all!!!
May each of you find hope and renewal in your day, your life, today.

I love how you love dogs. And the stories you tell...
Merry Christmas to your motley crew from mine.
And the merriest Christmas for you, too, it sounds like. Don't you wish you could adopt them all? I do. Merry Christmas.
There were times when I thought about giving my son up (not seriously, of course) But the dog, NEVER!!! Sheesh, there would have been no one to NOT argue with, NOT pick up after, NOT appreciate me, NOT be happy I am home...
Merry Christmas, Gus! And Gus's family!
awwwww hugs to you and Gus! xo

Merry Christmas, Brenda. Gus looks like a great pet.
Gus is a hunk--and has a great name too.
Heard a story once of people turning their dog in to a pound because they were redecorating their house and the dog no longer fit the color scheme.
My beautiful cat was a shelter baby, too. I love him.
