His eye upraised

With eye upraised his master's look to scan

The joy, the solace, and the aid of man
The rich man's guardian and the poor man's friend,

The only creature faithful to the end.

An excellent idea! A self-portrait as well as a good pooch shot.

What is it about reflections that we all seem to like so much (including your heron and crane [egret? ibis?] mirrored in the water)? Cool poem too.

Very, very true and you can see it in his eyes!
