The birds who visit our backyard feeders are changing.
Migration time has begun.
Autumn may begin at any day, at any dawn.
We may awake one morning and feel the damp cool night air still lingering. Sunrise might be a little later. And the birds who visit our feeders are different ones.
"You travel in neat kin groups over latitudes.
You prefer to eat the seeds spread on the ground.
The centuries have changed, there are new numbers.
We are counting on many things, including you."
-Old Acquaintance by Mark Jarman
Be safe, dear friends. I keep your songs in my heart.

I love the third down with the pretty rosey colored throat and the curious birds in the last, like what is that woman doing.
You'll probably get the numbers of birds that Michigan will lose . . . But nice thoughts here.
I too, have noticed that migration has begun. Today I saw a rock wren in my yard. They reside here in the winter but are gone in summer. I've been seeing more raptors as well. The open space is full of voles, mice and rabbits, the hunting is good here in winter.
Sweet thoughts and pictures.
I love your sweet bird pics. I noticed the white-winged doves are not at my feeders lately.
Yes something is definitively in the air: fresh air! Finally!
I enjoy seeing the migration, and look forward to "FALL" and then spring, my favorite time of year. I love your Post.
beautiful photos.
You know I love your bird shots. Particularly the two inquisitive fellows in the last one.
