By the river

We spent a morning by the river,
hiking, birdwatching,
and keeping an eye out for the wild horses.

 It was hot. 112 F.
The tubers yelled over to us
that the water was most refreshing.

The lone girl kayaking,
the water reflecting the sky.

 Horses, birds, river folk.
We saw - and heard - them all.

What a lovely post! Everything along the riverside looks so green and healthy. With the 112 temps didn't the water tempt you at all?

Yes, the water was tempting! Roe, have fun. Take a towel just to wipe the sweat, haha.

Love this post, Brenda. I don't envy you the 112 degrees; however, I'm convinced that 98 with 98 percent humidity feels worse!

That looks so refreshing. The heat has been very yucky lately, hasn't it? I am ready for Fall!

Such a place! It's reminds me of the American River.

Yep, Chris, Salt River. Have you 'tubed' it?
Oh Autumn, please sneak in soon.

Any time Brenda... :-)

Yes the muskrats are considered a nuisance by the city because they destroy the lake's banks and a non-nuisance by the passerby who feed them with carrots... :-)

Lovely series of photos! Personally, however, there's no way I could handle being out in 112 degrees. I can more easily deal with 40 below--I can always put on more layers to keep warm.

My niece was out there with a bunch of friends - you might have seen her!
