More of the horses

They approached us from hidden shadows.
We could hear their movements before we could see them.

 The wild horses were grazing,
and we were silent observers.

I'm fascinated by wild horses in the Phoenix/Mesa area. How close were you to them, Brenda?

As near as 10 yards? When you come back to visit, Kathy, I'll take you!

Oh, when you take Kathy, I would love to tag along. I've never heard of these horses. They're amazing.

Magpie, I'm game to go anytime, and I'd love company!
This was in the newspaper last month:

Didn't know you had these around Phoenix. Interesting. What beautiful critters. Are doing OK in the wild? Obviously they're breeding.

I want to go to!!! The forest is absolutely captivating as are the horses. Those are some really cool shots.

I just heard that several wild horse areas in the Northern area are suffering from drought and a couple hundred corpses were found. I hope it's not these guys. We have several wild ones down here as well. Very difficult. Here's the story. If they have to capture the wild horses, they are sold to ranchers who then end up selling them to Mexico to be butchered. I was shocked at the news. It was on our local news station tonight. Broke my heart.
