When I imported the photo, I notice that the image was particularly sharp, and that Shado had something in his eye.
His eye showed the reflection of the yard! The tree with the love birds is surrounded by the blue sky, the fence posts are visible going vertical, the house is on the right, and the light colored canopy on the left is the gazebo where I was sitting, and the small dark spot in the center is me!
The world.
In his eyes.
Simple.
Yet profound...

I love it. I don't believe that animals cannot see colors. It's not logical to me. It doesn't explain a Chameleon.
What a cutie!!!
He is beautiful and looking at all the things he loves the best, you, his home, the trees!
Great shot, Brenda!
Jo, Stella and Zkhat
Wonderful shot! Such a sad look! I'm sure he just wanted to help you get some good flight shots.
oh dear, he looks like he is jail! (Sorry!) I guess that happens when one is on the other side of the gate from thier parent
Happy and sad in a dog's face and tail--there's nothing quite like it. I wonder if science will ever be able to explain it. By the way, "His eye" to "the center is me" is durn near a poem, I'd say.
This is a great all around post! Love that face...
Beautiful! I keep a piece of twine outside the door so that I can "smuggle" Sam out without alerting the others. The twine then becomes his leash. I can't stand that sad look he gives me.
Sam
oh he looks so sad. He has a good friend in you.
Good eye, both of you.
Profound and beautiful.
So beautiful and touching!
Oh so sweet, that is the definition of a hang-dog expression! He so wants to get through the gate and be with you.
Perfect photos :)
OH, he does look so sad!
Great post.
