Trees that aren't threatened

As I think of friends near the La Cananda/Flintridge fires, I feel that my day's activities are insignificant. I don't know how to reach from here to there. I don't know how to make a difference for them, how to help.

I raked the pine needles from our own pine trees in front of our house. I forgot we had a birdhouse up in one of the trees.

And I ache for birds and life in the midst of the fires.

Gus slept near while I worked until he heard my sob escape from my chest. He so quickly looked over to check on me.

A heartwarming post, Brenda. My prayers go out for our friends of the La Canada/Flintridge area.

Those fires really are awful aren't they? Birds can fly. Deer and other larger animals can run. But so many have no way of escaping. I try not to think about it, and pray they can get things under control soon.
